Hackatown est de retour en 2021 pour une cinquième édition. Si tu aimes coder, travailler en équipe, réseauter et concrétiser tes idées, viens nous rejoindre en ligne du 5 au 7 février pour y participer!

Il s’agit d’un hackathon de 48 heures dont le thème est la ville verte & intelligente avec une nouveauté cette fois-ci : quatre catégories distinctes dans le thème de la transition écologique. Le défi consiste à développer une application mobile, Desktop ou web constituant un service fonctionnel pour accompagner l'industrie, le commerce ou les particuliers dans la démarche de décarbonisation .  De notre côté, nous aurons des données et des APIs à vous faire découvrir en plus d’avoir une section mentor où vous pourrez obtenir de l’aide technique à volonté.

Les sujets suivants adhèrent aux objectifs de carboneutralité que la ville Montréal s’est donnée pour 2050.

- Utilisation et efficacité de l'énergie - Réduction de la consommation énergétique dans les foyers et les bâtiments commerciaux. Production et distribution locales d'électricité et projets communautaires. Utilisation de la technologie numérique pour faire correspondre la demande à l'offre d'énergie propre. Solution numérique favorisant l’utilisation d’énergie renouvelable. Simulation de modèles de projection climatique.

- Transport et mobilité - Avec la situation actuelle, la technologie numérique peut venir en aide dans le but de favoriser le transport en commun tout en réduisant le trafic routier. Comment la technologie numérique peut-elle maximiser l'utilisation des transports publics, du covoiturage et des systèmes de location? Le numérique peut-il aider les réseaux de distribution et de livraison à soutenir l'augmentation des achats de produits et d'épicerie en ligne? Comment le numérique peut-il réduire les émissions dans les transports maritimes ou aériens?

- Construire l’économie de demain - Comment favoriser l’économie verte et inclusive? Comment favoriser l’achat de produits locaux? Avec les principes du développement durable, comment peut-on réduire l'empreinte écologique, favoriser la réutilisation et le recyclage?

- Agriculture et alimentation - Réduire les pertes et gaspillages alimentaires. Renforcer la sécurité alimentaire. Améliorer les pratiques d’utilisation de pesticides. Développer une solution numérique favorisant l’efficacité dans la production agricole et le développement de l’agriculture urbaine. Environ 14% des aliments produits dans le monde sont perdus avant même de parvenir sur le marché et ceux-ci représentent 8% des émissions mondiales de gaz à effet de serre. (Source: lien)

This is a 48-hour-long hackathon with our theme revolving around green & smart cities, this time with a twist: four distinct categories related to the ecological transition. The challenge is to develop a mobile, desktop or web application that is a functional service to support industries, commerces or individuals in the process of decarbonization. We will have data and APIs for you to discover, as well as a mentor section where you will be able to receive free technical assistance at any moment.

The following topics adhere to Montreal's carbon-neutral objectives for 2050:

- Efficient Usage of Energy - Reduction of energy consumption in homes and commercial buildings. Local energy production and distribution as well as community projects. Using digital technology to match the demand for clean energy. Digital solutions that promote the use of renewable energy. Simulation of climate projection models.

- Transportation and Mobility - How can digital technologies help promote public transit while reducing road traffic? How can they maximize the use of public transportation, carpooling and rental systems? With the current pandemic, how can digital technologies help with the distribution and delivery of online items and grocery shopping? How can they reduce CO2 emissions related to shipping and air travel?

- Building the Economy of Tomorrow - How can we foster a green and inclusive economy? How can we encourage the purchase of local products? With sustainable development principles, how can we reduce our ecological footprint and promote reusing and recycling?

- Agriculture and Food - Reducing food loss and waste. Strengthening food security. Improving pesticide use practices. Developing a digital solution that promotes efficiency in agricultural production as well as the development of urban agriculture.
